There is an upside to spending our days at home: we can finally clean, declutter and even redesign our spaces. This new series called #HeyjowQuarantineCorners aims to inspire creativity and joyful living at home despite what's happening in the world right now. Let's explore these beautiful spaces together, which have been generously shared with us by friends.
Professional declutterer and founder of the blog, UnDiplomatic Wife, Ayessa's condo is filled with Scandinavian influences, and infused with her own personal style.
“My secret to #whiteliving, without it feeling clinical, is to layer different textures of white details, then mixing in pops of gold and natural wood. I invested in a few beautiful pieces - like the gold balloon dog lamp - to mix high with low.” shared Ayessa.
"During the lockdown, I’ve been taking courses to improve myself and learn new skills. I also learned how to bake sourdough, Japanese milk bread, cake and I even started making ice cream!"
"We live in a condo so our living room & bedroom now also functions as our gym, playschool and movie theater! While our dining area also doubles as our office."
Ayessa's space expresses her personality throughout it: elegant and simple, and full of light. She enhanced the beauty of the environment and brought simplicity to the smallest detail. “I always decorate by creating vignettes in every angle of the room wherein the things on the wall are placed relative to the furniture and lighting that’s also on the wall. This way there is balance & things look anchored and settled in." shared Ayessa.
“All our bedrooms are mostly white because I want it to be super relaxing and promote good & restful sleep.”
“Even if we have no balcony here, I decided to have as many green plants as possible to have that relaxing feeling and good effect on our air and health. Using all white pots makes it look visually uncluttered!”
Simple and straight lines, Ayessa’s condo fascinates us. Despite its minimalism and being in the middle of the city, her home can still express a multitude of things – natural materials, light colors, luminosity, wide spaces and greens.
