Time to go to our Layering Lab

Layering necklaces can be quite tricky and when done right, it can dramatically elevate your look.

Our Chief jeweler, Joana, showed us how she styled our latest pieces from the Golden Glow collection.

Layering Tip #1: There is beauty in simplicity. The good news is that you can never wear too much minimalist jewelry.

Layering Tip #2: Pile up different length, texture and size to create your individual style, and add dimension to your outfit.

Layering Tip #3: For a boho look, just add a pop of color by adding nature elements and some beaded pieces or gemstone pendants.

Layering Tip #4: There are many possibilities to wear a lariat necklace. These pieces are so versatile and adaptable to any style. They look discreet, but chic when styled with your outfit.

Layering Tip #5: Don't be afraid to pair your dainty pieces with chunkier chain necklaces for a full layered look.

#HeyjowLooks: Lariat Looks For Every Mood

The long lariat necklace is a versatile piece - a chameleon of sorts that can appeal to both minimalists and maximalists.

Our lariats usually come with an adjustable front toggle lock - and getting one with a length of 27" allows you to have different looks just by altering the length.

The Siona necklace from our Ode to Six collection seen here at its longest length of 27"

A plain dress or top with a low V-neckline can go well with a plain chain lariat. Aside from adjusting the length in the front, you can try wearing it with the lock at the back for a 'body jewelry' effect, as a bracelet and even as a belt (see video below!).

If you're in a flamboyant mood, layer your lariat with a few short necklaces that come in a pop of color or has interesting pendants.

Summer Layering Inspo: Maximalist Style with Five Layers + Statement Earrings

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’re probably familiar with our signature layering pieces. Usually made of 2 and 3 necklace, our pre-layered sets are the perfect way to add some flair to a basic ensemble.

Pieces from our Gold Coast Collection

We’re in a maximalist mood these days and we tried mixing sets (and even added statement earrings to the mix) with Tin Magsaysay-Matic, one of the co-founders of modern Filipino restaurant Locavore.

We shot Tin at Locavore's tropical-inspired branch in S Maison for her Style Stories feature

Tin is a big fan of layering necklaces. “What I love about layering necklaces is I’m able to combine pieces that have sentimental value like jewelry from loved ones with pieces I’ve collected over the years.”

Tin wearing the Solita and Sidra sets with her own medallion necklace

“It can instantly spice up an outfit and I usually wear very basic clothes so jewelry makes the look less basic,” she added. We mixed two of our sets, the Solita and Sidra, with Tin’s own medallion necklace for the shoot – that’s a total of 5 necklaces!

Tin wearing the Antigua in turquoise

We also added the Antigua turquoise earrings for a pop of color. The leaf details  mimicked the frills of her playsuit, which made the entire look cohesive and definitely fun!
